LOOP in association with Emergency Architects Australia present a three day fundraising event:

SOLOMON ISLANDS BENEFIT CONCERT

Sunday 27th, Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th May, 2007

LOOP, 23 Meyers Place, Melbourne, 3000

On Monday 2nd of April in 2007, Solomon Islands regions were devasted after a tsunami swept ashore, caused by a strong undersea earthquake in the South Pacific. Gizo, the main town in west Solomon Islands, was hit by waves with heights reaching several metres high. The tsunami destroyed and dislocated communities, washed out buildings and roads, and left hundreds of people homeless.

The Solomon Islands Benefit Concert is an event aimed to raise funds and provide awareness of the tsunami situation in the South Pacific. All raised funds from the concert will go to the Emergency Architects Association (EAA), who will specifically use the money to assist the rebuilding phase in the Solomon Islands. EAA is a non profit organisation who advise and assist regions globally who have been afflicted by natural or technological disasters.
