Melbourne 21/4/07 @ ACMI: Palestine Film Series

... an exciting social event! ... cheers

This week I am introducing the second film presentation in the Palestine Film
Series, a project begun and guided by my friend Ayman Ouda. Those of you who
live in Melbourne or its environs are urged to try and come along and to tell
all your friends; those of you who live elsewhere should let anyone who is
likely to be in Melbourne on the day know about it. The details are as follows:

Reminder: Premiere Screening of "Ripples Cross", 21 April at ACMI

The Palestinian Community Association of Victoria presents 'Ripples Cross', film
by Mark Turner & David Schler.

Venue: ACMI Cinemas, Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Federation Square
Flinders Street Melbourne
Guest speaker: Maher Mughrabi
Date & Time: Saturday 21st of April 2007 - Opening @ 2:00 PM
Ticket Price: $15 full, $11 concession
Your attendance to support Children First Foundation Evacuation Program to Gaza
is greatly appreciated.

The theatre opens at 2PM and the speaker will introduce the film at 2:30PM
sharp; please come on time.

As you can see, the screening of the film is organised to raise money for the
Children First Foundation. However its wider purpose is to raise awareness. I
could say awareness of the occupation of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip by
Israel, but most people who know me are aware of that! Rather I would say that
Ripples Cross gives you a glimpse into the non-violent efforts to combat the
occupation that are organised by the members of the International Solidarity
Movement. I will be speaking for about 10 minutes to introduce the film.

I hope to see some of you there, or to hear from someone you have convinced to
attend. In any case, I look forward to hearing from all of you electronically
and to making this the first word in a long and fruitful conversation.

Love always

Maher Mufid Mughrabi
