Picking up on your comments about what to do when attacked, there is a sense that a large number of people are opposed to war, but are not making the basic connections with their actions, feelings or thoughts in everyday life.

Take the BBC for example, where a documentary about the 'dirty' war was aired, referring to the dirty bomb, which has caused so much shock in the UK. The possibility of bio warfare led to the mass production of leaflets distributed by the Blair government to every doorstep, giving a menu of choices for the family of 3.2, should a dirty bomb be dropped.

The reaction caught in the BBC debate was something quite odd to me. While people generally felt that it was wrong that this 'dirty bomb' campaign or education (whichever way you look at it) implicated the muslim community (even though the IRA have been a bigger threat to England in the recent past), they felt the government left people with more questions than answers. As true as this may be, when did the British government drop leaflets at ever Iraqi's doorstep on 'what to do, should we attack'. Too late now. I'm bewildered that the general public do not discuss these issues with the same vigor as they do when it affects their own lives.
