August 6: Hiroshima Rally + Stop War
HIROSHIMA DAY RALLY, AUGUST 6
Updated Monday, 26th June, 2006
No nuclear weapons
Stop the attacks in Lebanon & Gaza
No nuclear industry in Australia
1pm SUNDAY AUGUST 6,
HYDE PARK north, SYDNEY
State Library, MELBOURNE
Info: 9698 2954, www.hiroshimadaysydney.org
With the world on tenterhooks at nuclear-armed Israel's current acts of aggression in Lebanon and Palestine, and at the prospect of a U.S. nuclear attack on Iran, it is especially important that the 2006 Hiroshima Day Rally be a big, powerful antinuke, antiwar event -- one of many such, worldwide.
With the very real prospect of some kind of nuclear holocaust looming in the Middle East, this Rally must not just be about remembering the tragic bombing of the Japanese city of Hiroshima by the U.S. in 1945. It must also be about present-day nuclear aggression, nuclear power, nuclear pollution, and the warmonger mindset...
STOP PRESS: STOP THE WAR COALITION is organising a special protest contingent opposing Israeli aggression for the Hiroshima Day Rally. Take a stand against Israels attack on Lebanon and Palestine. Come to the rally on Sunday 6 August, and build on the solidarity shown at the inspiring July 22 rally of 20,000 people
