Engage in the challenging ethical and social policy discussion-are architects who design prisons compounding rampant prison system growth or supporting the development of safe and humane detention environments?

Learning objectives:

* Engage in challenging social policy discussions where there are no clear answers
* Explore prison trends in the United States and the challenge facing sheriff's departments and correctional institutions as mandatory sentences become public policy
* Identify problems with past prison design and the many advances in the development of safe, humane, and efficient detention facility design.
