Skybridge in Launceston

Launceston is about to get a bridge that dances about and does the fingers (or kicks its legs depending on how you look at it). I don't know much about it or who designed it, but it appears to be causing a stir in town mainly because of its height (it's higher than anything) and its perceived lack of decorum. The skybridge and accompanying apartment building and hotel (well there are developers involved) were approved by council last month. This month the National Trust is launching an appeal against the development. A spokesman called the sky bridge a 'trojan horse' thats purpose was, "merely to get buildings of an inappropriate scale through the city's gates." Horse? From the look of the bridge, it's more probably a couple of jousting unicorns.

A local sleuth has sent in a few links to keep us informed.
