1980s wood treatment warranty dilemma

I'm working on the reconstruction of a conservatory that was built in the late 80s and started rotting away in the early 90s. It is now failing badly. The original construction has recently been identified as being a particular timber window system by a big name corporation. The timber treatment was "protim" which carries a 25 year warranty. The new owners had it inspected recently and received a brush off letter back which said that the windows hadn't been maintained in the proper manner. It also implicated that because the owner had attempted repairs in the past, the warranty was void.

Any advice on how to handle this?
