FAQ - Posting Articles
I am building an FAQ regarding how we should be quoting from other articles, and would appreciate comments. My main angles are:
* keeping on the right side of the Copyright Act.
* that news quotes should have commentary by the poster.
* that news quotes need not be more than two paragraphs.
* If they are long quotes then the purpose of quoting should be stated as including "for discussion and criticism".
* that AFP member posters should try not to post as 'guest'.
Soon I will embed a note into the page footers that says something along the lines of Beatriz' note about the purpose of her quotations. Registered users will find a "signature" section in their profile settings, it would be great if more of us used it (note it may not be working at the moment - let me know if you have problems making it work).
