Spam bots / spam posts

edited February 2005 in issues
I will have to alter the main forum to "registered users only" soon if the problem with spam posts doesn't stop. I had hoped to keep it open for all to user anonymously, but the forum gets filled with porn ads then what's the point.

    Agreed peter.

It's not so bad at the moment, but today's spate of spams were particularly unappealing and the locations of these messages were flung all over the forum. Also, I think the small and quick task of regiistering isn't really that hard to do and frankly, it's just a username. It really doesn't give anything away.
