Be part of the Australian exhibition 2010 Venice Architecture Biennale
Creative Directors Ivan Rijavec and John Gollings call for Expressions of Interest in a national design competition. Liberating architects from current planning and design constraints and encouraging speculative, futuristic visions, the Designs for Australia's cities 2050+ competition is being held to source material for the WHEN part of Australia's exhibition.
Detailed information is available by downloading the brief on the site.
It is open to architects, urban designers, planners, students and visionaries. This is an open invitation that will be judged on merit. Entries close Monday 30th November 12pm (noon) AEDST.
WHEN will showcase futuristic propositions, selected in a staged process, comprising an expression of interest in this first stage and a developed proposal in the second stage, from which the finalists will be chosen and whose work will be rendered in 3d stereo for showing in Venice and included in the catalogue.
It is important that entrants not be constrained by current planning issues; rather it is radical futuristic concepts that should reveal themselves.
