The other week The National Gallery of Victoria at Federation Square announced plans to throw about $150M at an extension of the 5 year old Indigenous Gallery. Director Gerard Vaughan said the new gallery had to be, "highly distinguished, monumental and significant." Not to be outdone, Melbourne Museum director Patrick Green said they were planning a major redevlopment of their 7 year old building, Bunjilaka.

In other related news the Federal Government has decided that indigenous artists at Northern arts centres should be working for the dole. This is because the government, is in the process of dismantling the Community Development Employment Project which supports the inconsistent industry.
