Wardle - Cityscape AR awards win
PRESS RELEASE:
John Wardle Architects receives international design recognition
The Vineyard Residence by John Wardle Architects has won the residential category of the prestigious Cityscape Architectural Review 2005 Awards. The announcement was made at a glittering gala reception held in Dubai on the evening of Saturday, 17 September 2005. Meaghan Dwyer, Associate of John Wardle Architects, attended the awards ceremony.
260 entries of buildings received from around the world were considered by a panel of renowned architects for the awards, held in conjunction with the Cityscape 2005 conference and exhibition - the Middle Easts premier property investment and development event - and the 2005 World Architecture Congress.
The judging criteria included contribution to world architectural culture, invention and imagination, environmental awareness, and respect for people and the planet.
"Judging the awards this year was very challenging for our experts, as we had a large number of excellent entries," said Peter Davey OBE, former editor of Architectural Review magazine (UK), one of the judges of the awards.
Judges Comments: A well considered response to climate and site. Beautifully planned.
