Victorias newest architectural projects on display
<p><span style="font-size: large"><span style=""><font class="bodytext" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, Sans Serif" color="#333333"><b><font face="Arial" color="#3c6498">NEW VICTORIAN ARCHITECTURE PROJECTS ON DISPLAY</font></b></font></span></span></p>
<p><font class="bodytext" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, Sans Serif" color="#333333"><b>Some of Victoria’s newest and most innovative architectural projects will be on display to members of the public this weekend for ‘round one’ of the 2008 Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) Victorian Architecture Awards. </b>
All <b>180-plus entrants</b> in the <b>2008 RAIA Victorian Architecture Awards</b> will present to awards jurors on <b>Saturday 5 April 2008 in Melbourne</b> - providing an opportunity for the public to see some of the country’s newest architectural masterpieces - from residential through to urban design and public architecture.
Panels of jurors will simultaneously consider presentations from Victoria’s premier architects. Categories include residential architecture (houses and multiple housing), public architecture, small project architecture, sustainable architecture, urban design, commercial architecture, heritage, and interior architecture. Entrants give an audio-visual presentation followed by questions from the judges.
The presentation day is open to all members of the public, and anyone with an interest in design directions within contemporary Australian architecture is encouraged to attend.
Where:Sidney Myer Asia Centre, The University of Melbourne, Swanston Street, Parkville
When:8.30am-6pm Saturday 5 April 2008
