salary survey

I have just found the newish Hays salary survey of the construction industry.

While it makes interesting reading, I'm not sure how they arrive at the numbers, and whether the numbers are very accurate (is it like getting a real estate agent to do a survey of house prices?)

I assume they gather salaries from people they've found employment for

I think Peter is right - they like to talk the market up as their commission is a % of the starting salary. I have found Hayes less than useful or honest.
